My Birthday with Babatunde Lea And Friends - October 15, 2008

What a way to spend a Birthday. I did on Oct 15th, and what a great evening of music it was at YOSHI's in Oakland. Babatunde Lea And Friends
"A Tribute To Leon Thomas."
Featuring Ernie Watts, Patrice Rushen, Gary Brown and Special Guest vocalist Dwight Trible.
I was blown out of my seat, as this was a live recording session.
I was invited by Jana Herzen (head of Motema Music), and Jana thank you, we did love the evening. I sang with Jana on the 10th of October, for her brothers wedding(congratulations Rick and Joanne), with a number of Motema artist who can out from New York (KJ, I loved your music). The Ceremony began with the wedding song from my CD (“I LOVE YOU”), and Jana and I performed a duet she wrote especially for her brother and his bride.
I've got to get back to Babatunde Lea And Friends. Babatunde Lea, what a super drummer, add to that the Sax of Ernie Watts and smooth Bass of Gary Brown and you have a winning combination, but I was even more thrilled by the addition of Patrice Rushen. I co-MCed a concert with Clifford Brown Jr. of KCSM Radio, “Experience On The Green,” a few weeks back (which featured Roberta Flack), and Patrice was there performing with Ray Parker Jr., Micheal Henderson, Dwayne Wiggins and so many other great artist, doing old school music, but I had never heard her play the way she did at Yoshi's on the 15th. Patrice you were WONDERFUL. That's one CD I'll be buying when it releases. Finally vocalist Dwight Trible, I loved your superb voice and animated style.

The Latest News - July 12, 2008

Hey Gang, I'm going to try to update this, if not every week, as often as I can.
Just to catch you up on what I've been up to, I've had a lot of family business to
take care of, and I was sick with a cold for a couple of weeks. Add to that the fact that there was no time to stop everything else that still had to get done, and it did get done.

First, I thank GOD for this wonderful life he has brought us all.

I was back in the studio with Claytoven Richardson, working on the music mixes of the CD for radio, as we prepare the album for national release. I always love working with Claytoven, and there is always so much to learn. I plan to introduce you to Claytoven
in the coming weeks and let you know everything that he’s up to. Talk about a busy man, he has a new book, he teaches voice, and he’s doing a lot of studio work with the biggest names in the music industry.

Sunday, June 22, I opened the second day of the “Juneteenth Festival,” in San Francisco,
doing 4 tracks from my CD. It was a beautiful day and there were a lot of people there to enjoy the music and the food.

For the week of July 4th, I stopped by the Alameda County Fair July 3rd (The best ticket in town), to see Lonny Jordan and the Music Band “War.” It was a packed house and as always Lonny and the guys put on a great show. I’ve had the privilege of being the Master of Ceremonies for 2 War concerts in the past, and sat in with the group for a song during the KSOL days. Playing music at that level isn’t work, its fun, and it’s fun for the audience.

I worked in the vegetable garden this morning and I’m starting to get tomatoes, and I want to go dancing this evening, but first I’ve got work to do for you.
Check the YOUTUBE link to see video I’m adding, and keep coming back for more about the site.

Finally, a shout out to Scott Galloway for doing my Bio for this web-site.
It’s never been easy to talk about myself, but after reading his writing I know I need to still bring you more, and I will.

All My Love.

Isaac

We're finally going to kick it! - April 7, 2008

It has seemed like a life time, trying to prepare, so many other life things happening, and no music. Well, it has seemed that way, now it's time to get this party started.
